What am I?
My fruit holds several of my seeds, and you've probably never thought there was anything special about them. When you see the seeds, you think it's time to throw me out.
Where I grow
To grow the right fruit, farmers use grafting, which means the farmer adds a piece of a tree that is growing the fruit they want into a different young tree.
You probably guessed that I grow on trees! My tree grows flowers. After the flowers are pollinated by bees, my fruit will grow.
After I'm picked
I grow over the summer until I'm ready to pick.
Most stores sell me all year long even though I grow during the summer. That's because I can be "put to sleep" in a low oxygen storage center, so I am available to eat all year round!
Did you guess... Apple
Apple is the second most popular fruit in America (behind bananas)! There are over 8,000 kinds, too!

HOW IT GROWS
Apples seem simple enough, but there is a lot more to this fruit than you know!
Apples grow on trees. Before the apple can grow, the tree fills with blossoms. The flowers are pollinated by bees and then the apple can grow.
