What am I?
I'm fuzzy and named after a bird that lives in New Zealand. Actually, I'm from China and used to be called a Chinese Gooseberry.
I'm usually round, green with black seeds inside, but I can also be red, purple, yellow, long, and small.
Where I grow
I grow on a flowering plant on a vine.
Even though I'm from China and named after a bird in New Zealand, Italy grows the most of me. I was only introduced to the United States around 120 years ago.
After I'm picked
After I'm picked, I should be placed in the refrigerator. If I'm not ripe, I can be put in a paper bag (so I don't get too much sun or heat) on the counter for 2 days.
Even though I'm a little fuzzy, every part of me can be eaten.
